So what can I tell you about this last year? Well, as the title of this post indicates, several themes are evident. As always, there’s the food element: I’ve given you some of my favorite recipes over the last year, and that will continue, as cooking is a major theme in my life, and I still have a lot more recipes to share. In the coming year, I am going to try to incorporate more German cooking into the blog though, because I think that might be of more interest to some of my readers who don’t live in Germany, but who read this blog because of an interest in German culture (right?). That means I’ll have to start more of this style cooking at home! I’m thinking it’s an excuse to get some of my local friends to show me their best, family recipes… not a bad idea. The restaurant reviews will also continue. I think this is one of the most useful parts of the blog, generally: the restaurant reviews, the Munich tips, and the beer garden reviews. One of goals of starting this blog was to find a place to write down all the questions that I get asked on a regular basis when friends or friends of friends are visiting Munich (and Germany) and want to know where to go and what to do while here. I try to give “insider” tips – something a little different from your typical guidebook.
Are there any other areas that you would like to see further developed in the coming year? Favorite aspects of the blog? Posts that have a “meh” factor that you routinely skip over? Friends, please comment here on the blog – I really want your feedback. After a year of writing, it’s a good time to take a little stock and re-direct if I need to (or continue on feeding you all with my recipes and musings, haphazard though they might be).
In sum, it’s been a great year and thanks for coming along for the ride!
