Everything on the M Belleville menu is top quality, coked with the precision of long-practiced French techniques, but with a variety of not-so-French influences. For example, my favorite dish that I have yet tried, pictured above, is the salmon carpaccio with a ginger vinaigrette - clearly a combination of French and Asian influences, and executed perfectly. In fact, I believe the first time I tasted this dish, I turned to my tablemate and said, "who needs sushi? This is a hundred times better than any sushi I have had in Munich, and satisfies all the same cravings."
The red wine braised beef, and the chocolate fondant, are also stand-outs. Honestly though, I don't believe you can order a bad thing on this menu. And while the restaurant can be a bit expensive, particularly if you are drinking wine with your dinner (as you should), the 34 Euro 3-course menu is really a deal for the quality of the meal.
All I can say is, go now!!
